​Dr. Anastasia Parsons, PhD received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Florida State University. Prior to that she received her Masters in Professional Counseling from the University of Georgia. Dr. Parsons specializes in marriage and family therapy and has trained at the Ackerman Institute for the Family in Manhattan and Astor Services for Children and Families in the Bronx. In addition to treating couples and families, Dr. Parsons has extensive experience providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of clinical issues. Her theoretical orientation is a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, multicultural, and systems perspectives. She believes that more important than her theoretical orientation, it is flexibility that is the key to individualizing treatment to connect with and meet the needs of each unique client. As a native Floridian, she spends her free time enjoying three of the four seasons outdoors with her husband and her dog, winter is the exception. In addition, she and her dog, Buckley, are a certified Pet Partners Therapy Dog Team and volunteer with children and adults throughout New York City.
